The Job in a Nutshell💡

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation Engineer to join our growing Quality Engineering team at our Gurugram office.  This is a hands-on coding role where you will be directly involved in writing, executing, and maintaining automated tests. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our automated testing framework, ensuring the quality and reliability of our mobile application. You will be a key contributor to our continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline, working closely with developers and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software rapidly and efficiently.  A key part of your mission will be to significantly increase automation coverage across our systems. A successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces collaborative problem-solving, and is passionate about automation.  This is a fully in-office position based in Gurugram, Haryana, India.

What You Will Do💡

  • Design, Develop, and Maintain Automated Tests: Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for API endpoints (RESTful APIs, GraphQLs primarily) and other system components. This will be a primary focus of your day-to-day work.
  • API Automation Expertise: Utilize tools like Rest Assured, Postman, SoapUI, and jMeter to develop and execute robust API automation strategies.
  • Framework Development: Contribute to the design and enhancement of our existing automation framework, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reusability.
  • Mocking and Service Virtualization: Implement mocking and stubbing techniques (and potentially service virtualization) to isolate components and enable efficient testing.
  • Test Execution and Reporting: Execute automated test suites, analyze results, identify and report defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.
  • CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous quality assurance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA engineers in an Agile environment to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Manual Testing: Perform manual testing as needed, particularly for exploratory testing and complex scenarios.
  • Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA engineers as needed.
  • Stay up to date on QA best practices, and new tools.
  • Participate in Design and code reviews.
  • Drive Automation Coverage: Actively identify areas for automation and implement solutions to increase overall test coverage.

Requirements

What Are We Looking For❓

  • Experience: 3-4 years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
  • API Automation: Extensive experience with API automation using tools such as Rest Assured, Postman, SoapUI, and jMeter.
  • Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in Java and Python.
  • QA Methodologies: Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing techniques, and best practices.
  • Mocking/Stubbing: Proven experience with mocking and stubbing techniques for isolating dependencies during testing.
  • SDLC Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Agile Experience: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Service Virtualization: Experience with the implementation or use of Service Virtualization.
  • Manual Testing: Experience with manual testing techniques.
  • Communication: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Version Control: Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • CI/CD: Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Location: Must be willing to work full-time from our Gurugram, Haryana office.
  • Hands-on Coding: Demonstrated ability and willingness to write high-quality, maintainable code.
