Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. As a fresher, you will work closely with developers, product managers, and senior testers to ensure that banking applications are tested thoroughly and meet quality standards. You will gain exposure to various banking systems such as core banking, digital banking, payment gateways, and compliance testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Assist in preparing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Execute manual tests for functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
  • Identify, log, and track defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Perform basic database validations using SQL.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during test cycles.
  • Participate in test reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data privacy standards in banking software.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of the banking domain (e.g., KYC, transactions, loan systems, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Basic knowledge of manual testing and test case preparation.
  • Familiarity with databases and ability to write basic SQL queries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Eagerness to learn banking concepts and domain-specific regulations.

Nice to Have (Optional):

  • Internship or academic project in software testing or QA.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools like Selenium.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
