Description
As a QA engineer, you’ll be responsible for managing manual native apps testing at all stages of the development cycle (SDLC). That will include writing and maintaining tests in collaboration with your team using our current testing process.

Our customers are worldwide, and each country has different requirements we support through our platform. Our way of working
We're a distributed team, with the primary engineering teams in UK and Portugal. Our wider team are on most continents of the world. Your day to day team will be based in a European timezone (GMT +/- 2h). Our working language is English.
This role is primarily remote, with occassional travel/office visits.
Requirements
Objectives of this role
- Working on ways to improve development and QA processes by working together with software engineers
- Testing and examining code written by others and analysing results
- Identifying technical problems and working with the developers to solve the blockers as quickly and effectively as possible
- Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
- Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions
Responsibilities
- Implementing testing tools and approaches
- Developing test suites where manual testing is needed
- Improving QA processes, including unit testing across our products
- Build tools to reduce the occurrence of errors and improve customer experience
- Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues
Required skills and qualifications
- Experience as a QA engineer or software engineer with a strong focus on product quality
- Proficiency with Git, Jira and other basic engineering tools
- Working knowledge of databases, both NoSQL/Document and SQL
- Problem-solving attitude
- Collaborative team spirit
- Security is a top focus
NB: This is a manual testing role. You will need strong mobile testing experience.

Salary range: £40-50k
Your team is based in Edinburgh, Scotland, with colleagues in Portugal and across the UK (primarily Scotland).
