About The Role:**

As a Principal Test Engineer, you will lead the automation and quality assurance strategy within our engineering organization. This role is pivotal in setting testing standards, advancing automated test processes, and enhancing end-to-end testing frameworks. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test automation, helping to deliver reliable, high-quality products rapidly and efficiently.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Strategy & Leadership:**

• Define, implement, and lead the organization’s quality assurance and automation strategy with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with leadership to establish a testing roadmap, addressing automation at all stages and ensuring alignment with product and engineering goals.

Testing Automation & Tooling

• Drive end-to-end automation practices using industry-standard tools for web, mobile, and API testing.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous testing and accelerate deployment cycles.
• Develop and maintain custom test frameworks, libraries, and tools to enhance test coverage and efficiency.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with development, DevOps, QA, and product teams to ensure cohesive automation strategies that support fast and reliable product releases.
• Collaborate with platform squads and infrastructure teams to optimize test environments and streamline deployment processes.
• Provide mentorship and guidance for QC engineers across teams, fostering a high standard of quality and accountability.

Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement**

• Define and track quality metrics such as test coverage, automation pass rates, defect density, and time-to-resolution, reporting to leadership on testing health and trends.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase test efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
• Innovate testing processes, incorporating feedback loops and adapting practices to ensure the best user experience and product reliability.

Requirements

**Required Skills & Abilities:

Education & Experience:**

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on automation engineering and test strategy in large-scale environments.
• Previous experience working in agile, squad-based teams with a strong emphasis on product quality and user experience.

Automation and Tooling Expertise:

• Proficiency in designing and implementing test automation frameworks for web, mobile and backend API testing.
• Strong skills in scripting languages relevant to test automation, with a focus on creating robust, scalable, and maintainable scripts.
• Experience with advanced end-to-end automation, including handling cross-browser and cross-platform testing capabilities, is a plus.

CI/CD and DevOps Familiarity:

• Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines, ideally using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools as they relate to testing and deployment processes.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience guiding QA and development teams in automation best practices.
• Problem-solving skills and an ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• A collaborative mindset and demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.
