Pavers are currently embarking on a system modernisation project, which will affect each and every business area. Reporting to the Head of Software Development, you will join an expanding team, which will be part of an exciting journey to move Pavers towards a truly modern system estate.  Looking to automate testing processes whenever possible.   

This is a technically focused role, assisting in the testing and quality assurance of Pavers’ technological deliverables.  Working in an agile/scrum environment you will operate within and across development teams/squads to deliver high-quality and functionally rich software applications. You will help to create and maintain a suite of desktop, web-based and API systems aligned to business requirements.

Hybrid working can be discussed on a case-by-case basis, but ideally you will be located within commuting distance of our York Head Office (YO26 6QU).

Main duties of our QA Analyst

  • Assessing opportunities for automation/ improvements for QA within the delivery lifecycle.
  • Preparing and maintaining test plans
  • Providing feedback to the development teams
  • Conducting risk assessments
  • Doing continuous testing and upgrades
  • Providing test related project estimates/forecasts
  • Liaising with suppliers, teams and team leaders
  • Preparing test scripts
  • Creating new test strategies
  • Building strong relationships with Pavers IT customers and members of the IT.
  • Working alongside existing development and support teams to ensure knowledge transfer.
  • Being highly supportive to users where engagement is required.
  • Helping to cultivate positive values and attitude within the team and promote the use of IT in support of the business.

About you

  • UK based holding Right to Work status (no sponsorship is offered)
  • Proven experience in creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test case
  • Experience of testing software in an agile methodology along with CI/CD using build tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, etc…
  • Excellent data manipulation skills, e.g. SQL and MS Excel
  • Knowledge and experience of testing containerised, cloud-hosted back-end systems with REST APIs using mainstream tools, e.g. Postman
  • Solid knowledge of at least one modern programming language, preferably JavaScript or C#
