Overview
At Blitz, we're redefining competitive gaming with a revolutionary desktop app and website that help gamers improve their play (check out blitz.gg ). Our applications help gamers play better by providing in-game enhancements, real-time scouting of enemy teams, unique performance insights, up-to-date stats, and personal progress tracking.
Currently, our major products support the popular MOBA, League of Legends, and the celebrated FPS, Valorant, but we’re quickly expanding to support more popular esports titles for PC and mobile.
With over 3 million total users, Blitz is the best personal gaming coach platform for popular titles such as League of Legends, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, and many more. Originally founded back in 2018 with a mission to enhance the gaming experience by empowering players with expert analytics designed to help them improve and win more.
In order to help assess and maintain a quality product, QA analysts will need to have an eye for detail and the foresight to predict unexpected interactions users may have with our product. You will need to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure all major releases and new features are published while upholding our high standards of quality. QA analysts will need strong communication skills to ensure that product and business requirements are understood and manually reviewed against.
We welcome remote workers and prefer those based in Los Angeles, CA. We consider it a strength if you are online roughly during Pacific Time Zone business hours.
What You’ll Do
- Gather product requirements and business requirements from our product team
- Translate requirements into test cases to create a test plan and maintain ownership and responsibility of that test plan
- Iterate over those test cases executing each one to ensure new features meet the acceptance criteria
- Consolidate and document outstanding issues into actionable single-bodied pieces of work
What It Takes To Be Successful
- Understand the basics of how client-server applications work
- Able to describe a bug so that an engineer can reproduce and fix it
- Able to generate and execute manual tests for edge cases
- Able to systematically identify root causes of problems
- Curiosity; we need people who want to ask questions and want to learn
- Autonomy; independently make progress on testing, bringing in help as needed
- Collaboration and Communication - Able to work well with engineers and product to gather requirements, understand scope, give and take feedback, communicate severity/priority of work, and give timely status updates
Nice To Have
- Solid understanding of differences in test types - smoke, regression, etc
- Experience with at least one project management software - Jira, Linear, etc
- Experience with testing at least one piece of software through the entire development cycle
- Passion for video games and helping others improve at them
- Familiarity with our currently supported games - League of Legends, Team Fight Tactics, Valorant, Legends of Runeterra, Fortnite, and CS:GO
- Familiarity with a programming language (Javascript or Elixir gets bonus points)
