Purpose of the job:
As a QA Engineer at VALR, your mission is to uphold the reliability, security, and performance of our trading platform through meticulous testing, and automation where applicable. Focused on testing web apps, mobile apps, and backend APIs, you'll contribute significantly to maintaining and enhancing the trading experience for our users. Your responsibilities encompass testing of new features, changes, bug fixes, exploratory testing, contributing to automated testing across various platforms, conducting performance evaluations, and staying abreast of the latest developments in the crypto and blockchain space.
What will you be doing:
- Test new features, changes, and bug fixes across web apps, mobile apps, and backend APIs to ensure seamless integration and delivery of the best trading experience possible.
- Perform broad exploratory testing of our product.
- Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to validate functionality, performance, and security aspects of our trading platform.
- Work within a cross-functional team to understand requirements, provide feedback on testing strategies, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Contribute to automated testing on web, mobile, and API platforms to enhance test coverage and efficiency.
- Conduct load, stress, and performance testing to evaluate system robustness and scalability, contributing to an optimal trading experience.
- Stay updated with the latest crypto and blockchain research, understanding and testing security tools and techniques to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Write clear and maintainable test cases to facilitate efficient testing processes and ensure the highest quality standards.
What we look for in you:
- Practical experience is more relevant than a formal qualification.
- 5+ years experience in Functional and Integration Software Testing, preferably within the financial services industry.
- 1+ years experience working with Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in testing backend APIs using tools such as Postman and other API testing tools.
- Experience in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, and TestCafe.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Typescript / JavaScript is a plus.
- Ability to conduct load, stress, and performance testing to ensure system reliability and scalability.
- Strong understanding of crypto and blockchain technologies, coupled with a passion for staying updated with industry developments.
- Familiarity with security tools and techniques, and the ability to incorporate them into testing processes.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- A natural inclination to help people and the ability to explain technical details simply
