Get Ready To:

As a Software Quality Expert, you will play a vital role in ensuring the high quality and reliability of our software products. Reporting to the Director of Software Quality, you will be an expert in specific areas of software quality, such as test case planning, QA automation, or other specialized domains. You will work closely with individual QA engineers spread across various engineering teams, acting as a matrixed team lead to them, while they work directly for their respective product teams. Your expertise and leadership will be critical in guiding and supporting the QA engineers to achieve quality objectives and deliver exceptional software products.

You're the Software Quality Expert we're looking for if you:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in specific areas of software quality, such as test case planning, QA automation, performance testing, security testing, or other specialized domains.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Software Quality to define and implement quality strategies, processes, and best practices across the organization.
  • Act as a matrixed team lead to QA engineers, working with them on a day-to-day basis to provide guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Assist in the planning, development, and execution of test strategies and test plans to ensure comprehensive test coverage and efficient testing processes.
  • Review and provide feedback on test cases, test scripts, and test automation code developed by QA engineers, ensuring they adhere to best practices and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and customer success, to understand product requirements and incorporate quality considerations into the development lifecycle.
  • Identify and implement improvements to testing processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate QA engineers on industry best practices, emerging trends, and new tools.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in software quality assurance, test automation, and related domains, and share knowledge and insights with the team.
  • Act as a point of contact for QA engineers, addressing their concerns, resolving issues, and fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Software Quality to define relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for software quality and establish measurable goals. Monitor and analyze KPI outcomes to assess the effectiveness of quality assurance processes. Take proactive actions and collaborate with teams to address any issues or deviations from established KPI targets, ensuring continuous improvement in software quality.

The bits and bytes that you’ll bring to your new team:

  • Strong experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on a specific area of expertise, such as test case planning, QA automation, performance testing, security testing, or other specialized domains.
  • Proven expertise in relevant tools and technologies related to the specific area of specialization (e.g., Playwright, Webdriver, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, Mocha, OWASP Zap, etc.).
  • Experience working as a team lead or mentor, providing guidance and support to QA engineers.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and QA processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in software quality assurance.
