Technology powers everything we do at Dialectica – from communicating with clients and finding the most relevant expert profiles in just a few minutes to indexing and categorizing thousands of pieces of information every day. To do so, we are building our own proprietary web application that automates and optimizes the delivery of our market leading services.
To date, the team consists of 80+ people across Software Engineering, Product & Design, TechOps, and is expected to grow further in 2024. Being part of Dialectica’s Technology Team you will have the opportunity to help extend and buildnew parts of our platform according to the requirements of our internal and external clients, and share the company’s vision to roll out more information services software products in the future.
About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer who writes code for testing to assess software quality. You will assist in finding, organizing and documenting bugs and defects and you will primarily focus on automation. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications and systems work correctly.

Indicatively, the responsibilities will include to:
- Analyze and decompose a complicated software system and design a strategy to test this system
- Collaborate with Software Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans for software delivery
- Formulate efficient and deterministic test scenarios
- Develop and maintain automated tests for both frontend and backend applications
- Execute test cases and analyze results
- Identify, categorize and report bugs and errors to development teams with insightful information (screenshots, error messages, stack traces, etc.)
- Run tests in CI/CD
- Ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Requirements
We have seen that people who fit this role best have:
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- 6+ years of proven experience as a Software Developer or Software Engineer in Test
- Proficiency in Object-oriented or functional programming and SQL experience
- Familiarity with scripting languages and UNIX-like systems and environments
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
- Experience in testing microservices in cloud native environments
- Good skills in Git, Github, Gitlab or similar source control solutions
- Shift left testing mindset (Testing Pyramid)
- Working knowledge with Continuous Integration pipelines (Gitlab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI etc)
- Experience with Agile Methodologies
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Analytical mind and problem-solving attitude
- Strong organizational skills
- Passion to mentor and guide junior engineers
- Ability to do root cause analysis based on log data and debugging information
- Track record in analyzing complex domains and proposing solutions.
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- Javascript experience
- Experience on Cypress Framework
- Software testing certifications
