What will you do? 

As a Senior Software Test Engineer you will have to do you will do implementation, regular problem solving, maintenance and support for an agile software development of Caterpillar’s products as well as:

  • Working on complex projects, application systems and infrastructure components, providing problem identification .
  • Independently working on business valuable features.
  • Maintaining high quality standards of software.
  • Report on and manage defects found by the test team and assist in prioritizing their solutions.
  • Plan, design, develop, implement, and approve automated tests for UI and API utilizing Playwright test framework.
  • Experience with automated testing software (Playwright strongly preferred, Cypress, Selenium, TestCafe) and best practices
  • Experience in testing RESTful APIs
  • Define and implement test systems and frameworks necessary to assure the quality of software.
  • Experience in Azure DevOps Test Plan and Test Case management or equivalent
  • Experience with Agile processes such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Mentoring and helping more junior test engineers and providing them guidance in creating high class test plans containing well structured test cases.
  • Performing integration testing and customer acceptance testing of the product.
  • Perform smoke testing on production level environments during the specified maintenance window(s).
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in IT development and Quality Assurance.

This position works directly with Slovakia based engineering leadership and Caterpillar in the US.

  • Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
  • Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace.
  • Software Product Design/Architecture: Knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into the software product design.
  • Software Product Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of technical aspects of a software products; ability to design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products.
  • Software Product Testing: Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements.
  • System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
